General Mills (Headquarters: Minneapolis, MN) may have pulled a
little movie, "Fargo," maneuver on their current ubiquitous ad featuring
the employee who successfully removed gluten from their Cheerios
breakfast cereal. He supposedly did so because his daughter-in-law
is gluten-sensitive.
At any rate the General Mills employee in the ad has his little blurb, and
he speaks a quintessential Upper Midwest accent, actually specifically
the accent of eastern North Dakota, Minnesota, and the western portion
of Wisconsin.
The giveaway is the slight lilt to his speak, reminiscent of the Norwegian
and Swedish languages, and some especially sibilant "s" sounds.
Uff-da and Ja shure.
David Strang.
