There's a headline like this every week. This week the numbers are
especially high. Requiescat in pace...

Chicago Tribune: Chicago weekend shooting toll: 8 dead, 45 wounded

I always try to keep the magnitude in mind by imagining this as the
result of one incident. It would be a worldwide news item. It should
be, even as separate incidents. Just terrible.
