[Magdalen] profiles in courage

Here are tow good ones, I think -- both very colorful and fast being forgotten, 
sadly:

Shirley Chisholm -- First African American Congresswoman elected 1968 (Beating 
James Farmer, former head of the Congress of Racial Equality running as a 
Liberal with GOP endorsement); First woman to run for President as a Democrat, 
receiving 152 votes at the 1972 Democratic National Convention.

Bella Abzug -- Battling Bella (of the Hats!) a co-founder of Women's Strike for 
Peace, pioneer civil rights lawyer, slogan - "A Woman's Place is in the House 
(of Representatives." Also introduced the first gay rights bill in Congress in 
1974.
