I had not heard of it until you mentioned it though Joan's Jesuitical preferences would indicate it. :-) Checking my itinerary again I see I'm due to cross the bridge on Friday 29 as I am in Mackinaw City that night.

Will you be staying in St Ignace? I've a restaurant and menu item recommend if that might be the case

Another day driving US-2 under leaden skies and with intermittent rain. The hotel is comfortable but I do need to go out to get something to eat. Fortunately there's a choice within a few minutes walk once the laundry has finished in the dryer. Shirts are already hung up to drip dry and if necessary I will finish them with the iron.
My room looks towards the city rather than the lake but looking out the back of the hotel the lake does not offer an attractive prospect with the waves breaking against the wall by the lakeside walk. I think I will pass on wandering along there this evening. What I do tomorrow will depend to an extent on the weather but a drive up the North Shore certainly has to be part of it. The wind will be more along the shore there rather than directly onshore here and it's meant to be dry.
