This weekend will mark my third week with the crappy crud that's had me coughing for nearly as long.  I'm feeling much better, and Wednesday felt like a million bucks, until the afternoon wind kicked up, much stronger than Salinas is used to.  (When my beard goes parallel to the ground, it's a strong wind.)  By close of business that day, my boss was complaining of allergies.  That evening after work, I was nearly bent over in coughing at the grocery story before I got home.  (Some Claritin-D and cough medicine did me just fine after a while.)  Today, my boss was out ill, as were four other people.  There's never that many people out ill at once at my joint.  And this evening, more wind, more unpleasantness, and more Claritin.  I'm beginning to feel a bit better once again.  But now even Everett seems like he might be coming down with it, AGAIN.

Pray for us around these parts.  Here, when the wind whips, it ain't just pollen and other allergens, it's bloody ag field DIRT.  So, pesticides, fertilizer, you name it.  We're a mess.
