Except with water polo you don't see what is going on under the water. The
athletes who play water polo are exceptionally fit! Not only are they
either treading water or swimming the whole time they are throwing that
ball around, they are trying to avoid being kicked, grabbed, or being
dragged underwater by the opponents! You should read the account sometime
of the USSR-Hungary game in the Olympics of 1956, an exceptionally vicious
game that literally resulted in blood in the water.

I've found myself completely captivated by judo, especially the
lower-weight classes where the athletes are scrappy and quick and kind of
remind me of alley cats. I"m slowly gaining some knowledge of the sport and
thinking that I might have enjoyed it myself had I had the opportunity to
learn it when I was younger.
