[Magdalen] welcoming the stranger

Our friend Amira's mother has finally received a green card, and we are all
awaiting her arrival.

Given Amira's age, this must be a woman in her eighties, possibly her
nineties. I don't know her name yet. She has been living in a convent and
then with a family in Lebanon for the past two years, having fled the war
in Syria.

The next person who tells me we should ban all Muslim immigration is going
to get a good poke in the eye from me, I think.
