Of your charity please pray for our housekeeper of some ten years.
Her systemic lupus has acted up, and she told us that she is no longer
able to do the job.

It's really like losing a family member.

The sequence of events precipitating her decision seems to be a
cellulitis of a lower leg, that stirred up the lupus, and then intermittent
shut down of her kidneys. Her health care team have been mentioning
the kidney dialysis on and off over the past few years, and maybe
now that will happen.

She came here one last time this morning, after all the above health
issues had kept her away for about 3 weeks. She was in terrible shape,
and seemed to be zombie-like. Her speech was slow and slurred, and
it made me wonder if she had started a psychotherapeutic medication
or was even on ethanol. She performed some of her usual duties
(Monday is garbage day), arriving at 5:30 AM because they come so
early for pickup here. She left at 12:30, and then texted us that she
was no longer able to work.

I am so sad. She essentially put on the wedding reception for us here
nearly three years ago, and so much else.

Her husband is, unfortunately, a stereortypic Polish husband, and has
little sympathy for her condition. Her two children don't seem much
better.

I ask your prayers.

David Strang.
