There is a percentage take-up for these immunisations that will prevent
the development of an epidemic. It can be that certain individual
children should nou, for medical reasons related to their own condition,
should not receive certain immunisations. The problem is that if that
number is inflated by people claiming non-scientific reasons why their
child should not be immunised then the danger of an epidemic, affecting
not only their own children but others for whom immunisation is
medically contraindicated, is increased. These claimed principles
endanger others.
