*Notice*

I would like to give all of our friends and valued customers a heads up
about some changes we are making to our product packaging as a result of
some recent pronouncements from the US Food and Drug Administration (the
“FDA”).

The FDA has recently issued guidance to food manufacturers concerning
use of the term “evaporated cane juice” (and similar terms) on product
labels. The stated purpose of the guidance is to enhance consumers’
ability to make informed choices among sweeteners by promoting accurate
and consistent labeling.

It is the position of the FDA that ingredients on a food label should be
listed by their common or usual name which accurately describes, in as
simple and direct terms as possible, the basic nature of the ingredient.
Since sugar cane products exist in many different forms the FDA view is
that the term “evaporated cane juice” is not the common or usual name of
any type of sweeter and that this ingredient should be listed on food
labels as “sugar” preceded by one or more truthful, non-misleading
descriptors if the manufacturer so choses.

In the case of Iveta Gourmet baking mixes *we would like to make it
clear that the ingredient described as “crystalized cane juice” on our
product labels is, in fact, “sugar”.*

To avoid any future confusion or possible misleading statements we are
re-designing our product packaging, promotional materials and website to
fully comply with the FDA guidance. For our existing inventory of
product packaging we are adding language to the ingredients label
stating that “crystalized cane juice is sugar”.

If you are an Iveta Gourmet wholesale customer and have our baking mixes
in your inventory we ask that you send us a list of your stock and we
will provide, without charge, updated labels to modify the ingredients
panel on such products.
