   "SUN CITY CENTER - Charles “Chuck” Wirick, Director of Music at Sun 
City Center’s St. John the Divine Episcopal Church since 1990 died 
Friday, March 3 at Hospice House in Sun City Center, following prolonged 
illnesses. He was 73; survived by his wife, Charlene, son, Karl, of 
Sarasota, Florida, and brother, George who resides in Michigan. A 
memorial service will be held at St. John the Divine, with interment 
following at the church’s Grace Memorial Garden. Details to be announced.
   "Within the walls of St. John the Divine, Charles Wirick combined 
contemporary songs and traditional hymns with the blues of Basin Street, 
Broadway hits, and soaring arias. He created oratorios and recitals and 
arranged for performances by such groups as The Florida Boy Choir and 
The South Shore Symphony Orchestra, typifying his respectful employment 
of music in service to his faith, to his parish and to his community. He 
was closely identified with interfaith programs throughout the Tampa Bay 
area.
   "Wirick had been Director of the Kings Point Mixed Chorus, the Sun 
City Center Men’s Chorus, and was a leading figure in community theater, 
as conductor of musical presentations by The Performing Arts Company the 
Pelican Players and for numerous local and Tampa Bay area presentations. 
Before relocating to Florida, he performed in a similar capacity with 
concert and theatrical companies in Jackson, Michigan. Mr. Wirick served 
over a period of twenty five years as Director of Music for Brookside 
United Methodist Church, Jackson, Michigan, Peachtree Road Evangelical 
Lutheran Church, Atlanta, Georgia, and First United Methodist Church, 
Chamblee, Georgia.
   "A graduate from Hillsdale College, Hillsdale, Michigan, Wirick also 
studied music at William Tyndale College, Farrington, Michigan, and 
Westminster Choir School, Princeton, New Jersey.
   "A memorial service will be held at SJD on Thursday, March 17, 2016 
beginning at 10:00 a.m.  A reception will be held immediately following 
the service at the SCC United Methodist Church, 1210 Del Webb Blvd West."
