Just got a call from Thomas that he's out of surgery and doing fine
(although tired). Surgery took only 45 minutes and "went wonderfully"
according to what they told his wife Melissa.
Thanks for all your prayers -

Subject: [Magdalen] Surgery prayers
This is for older son Thomas, who is to have an ileostomy at Mass. General
tomorrow. This is where they disconnect the lower end of the small
intestine, direct it outside, and feed it into a bag. This is to give the
large intestine and colon “a rest” – Thomas has had Crohn’s disease since he
was little. The plan is to then reconnect things at a later date. He should
be in the hospital 3-5 days. This should be fairly routine surgery, but ...
Lee had been planning on going down there, but, since he’ll be in the
hospital until the weekend, she’s planning on only going down there next
week if needed when Thomas’ wife Melissa has to go back to work.
Prayers for a successful surgery and quick recovery would be welcome.
