My experience is similar. I was first introduced to her by my spiritual
director who handed me Holy Listening to read. I thought is a special book
with much to offer about creating the environment for spiritual direction.

Years after that, she came at my request to do a conference for us at
Redeemer. Her manner was truly a nonanxious presence. She stayed at a
hotel, but took meals with my husband and I. We enjoyed her very much.
Interesting to me, she commented to me that she had changed much since
writing Holy Listening and now took much more of an anam cara approach to
direction.

I will miss her wisdom.....
