[Magdalen] R.I.P. Our brother Jim Guthrie

I'm shocked to see and very sad to report the news (from his sister
via Facebook) that our Jim Guthrie has died. I've asked his sister for
permission to share her post.

Well, here it is anyway. Very sad news.

>>My brother James Guthrie died early this morning in Scranton. As some of your know, he had stage iv colon cancer. Two weeks ago he had a heart attack. He was chipper last night. We were trying to think up something snarky to say on Facebook to explain why he hadn't been posting for a while - if you know Jim, this makes sense, right? Albert and I said goodnight but were called to the emergency room a few hours later. We were with Jim when he died of heart failure. We have tentative plans for a service in Scranton the week after Christmas. If I can think of something snarky to say after all, I'll post it later. Albert and I send our regards to all his friends.<<
