Yes, indeed.
 
I had a classic intervention that day, December 27th 1984.
 
On one side of the table was (by the orders):  (1) The Bishop;
(2) The Dean of the Cathedral; (3) A deacon and fellow physician;
and (4) A layman - my good friend the O/C of the Cathedral.
 
On the other side of the table:  Me.
 
I was so embarrassed and appalled that I walked out of the 
diocesan offices and never again picked up a drink.
 
Sometimes these rather dramatic maneuvers really work.
