Concerning colonoscopy -

My doc says one can alternatively do a blood-in-stools once a year as an
alternative to colonoscopy every five years. *Much* easier (and much less
expensive, too). Of course, if the test is positive, then a colonoscopy is
called for. You might consider this.

And, of course, prayers go with you journey through this world of health
care.

Subject: [Magdalen] GP update.

Saw my regular doc yesterday, FINALLY!, and it's now rather nice to have all
the players in the know. To summarise:

Dr Clark:

- heard the story with great interest.
- did not require me to undress my grievances for examination (he's not the
caregiver for them, so why?).
- wants me to inform Stanford that he's heard ZIP from them, and imagines
they're waiting till all the results are in so as not to bombard him. I'll
email them soon to let them know that.
- has ordered lab work of his own, because theirs was so specialised, prior
to a followup in a month.
- with great enthusiasm reminded me of what was coming at 50 -- colonoscopy.
I don't have to do it soon, but it also is now in the hopper.
- understood thoroughly how painful the last few months have been, and
consequently understood how much I probably don't want to jump in to more
appointments right soon after what he assumed was a helluva lot of them. He
was right!

Next stop, PET scan on the 29th.
