[Magdalen] Gas prices (was Re: Lottery tickets)

Over here, and because of some public pressure, the price has crept 
below the symbolic pind a litre in supermarkets, which tend to be the 
cheapest places for fuel. Given the current exchange rate (not good for 
me as I think about my next trip) that's about $5.49 a US gallon - 
horrific by your standards but cheaper than we have known it for some 
years.  The reduction happened because some motoring organizations 
pointed out how much the cost of crude oil had fallen and said that 
motorists should get the benefit.
