On the discovering of parishes, I "discovered" recently the
splendid Cathedral of the Incarnation, Baltimore.  The  congregation
is housed in a very handsome gothic revival building designed by
Philip Frohman of National Cathedral fame, and it has good
stained glass and a polychrome reredos.
 
The congregation appears to be active and involved, and it's hard
to lose when worshipping in such stunning surroundings.
