It also ignores the fact that we are (thank God!) different and that 
different worship styles appeal to and nurture different people.  St 
Paul recognized that people differ, and that none are to be thought the 
worse of for that.  What works in one place or one church will not 
necessarily work in another.  I recall going to a Church Growth seminar 
over 30 years ago where various techniques for growing the parish were 
put forward. They all assumed a certain type and size of church, which 
did not describe where I was then ministering.  To the Bishop's surpise 
I turned it from decline to growth in what was regarded as an 
unpromising situation.
