The Tridentines emphasize that 2nd February is the Feast of the  
Purification
of the BVM.  Then there is that confusion with Saint Blaise Day,  actually
3rd February, with the blessing of the throats.  The latter has been  a big
observance popular through much of Europe and continuing even after  the
Reformation.  For example, one of the churches employing JS  Bach
in Muhlhausen, Germany is dedicated still to Saint Blaise.
 
In any case, the blessing of the throats occurs on Saint Blaise Day
for the Tridentines.
