[Magdalen] Dubious local tradition

66 shootings; 4 dead. The violence had been somewhat less than last
year for most of the weekend, but in the last 15 hours there were 30
shootings. The new police superintendent made the mistake of issuing a
statement after the weekend that claimed "We've made progress." This
may be numerically true but is not true at all in terms of the
atmosphere in the streets nor the state of fear in which people have
to live in many areas. Just wasn't the time to celebrate anything
about the situation.
