[Magdalen] Deposit paid

Today (or technically now yesterday where I am) having paid the deposit 
I received the confirmed itinerary for my next vacation. Increasing 
pressure of school-related meetings means that I have switched to going 
away when schools are not in session rather than when they are. My next 
break starts on the Feast of Stephen, when I hope the snow will be 
absent rather than deep and crisp and even eityher here or where I am 
heading. :-)  As usual it will be visiting soime of the Lower 48 I have 
not yet visited.  The time of year precludes both the North-East and 
Nevada, Utah and South Dakota so I will be heading South.

The time of year means many of you will have family commitments so I 
have got hotels booked all along the route but opportunities to meet 
will, as always, be welcome though I will be extremely tired when I 
arrive having left home about 5 a.m. and landing about 8 p.m. UK time so 
an afternoon sleep would seem advisable. The hotels are:-

31/12    Sheraton, Memphis Downtown (2 nights)
02/01    Hampton Inn, Owensboro (2 nights)
04/01    Hampton Inn, Birmingham, AL (2 nights)
06/01    Days Inn, Forest, MS
07/01    Double Tree by Hilton, Baton Rouge (2 nights)

I will have a rental car throughout but on 9 January I won't have that 
much spare time before I need to check it in and catch my flight back to 
the UK. Any siggestions for worship on either Sunday would be welcome.
