Most likely transmission.  Maybe a sensor only, but I should be so lucky.  For weeks now (I posted about it once), my car's been telegraphing impending trouble, and I've been putting it off for the never-arriving day when I'll have the time accrued to deal with it.  The trouble comes, regardless.  And today, it came.  I've been able to put my car in gear and get it moving 90% of the time without much trouble, but this morning, on a hunch, I got up early and tried, and it wouldn't budge.  Just rev, no go.  It's now in the shop (same old shop I've always used, but old family friend retired without telling me, so it's just like Larry's Auto merely changed ethnicity; now, though the sign hasn't changed, Larry is Fernando), I've got an Enterprise rental available at 4:30 (at a higher rate than usual because it's same-day), and because I'm a kinda dead-in-the-water person when trouble hits since Mom moved away, I'm out a day of work (and a couple hours pay), but at least I'll be in my place with bright shiny face tomorrow morning because an overpriced rental got me there.
