Thanks, Susan! I arrived at our motel about half an hour ago, waiting for Jay. It's a Super8, rather funky, but low budget, which is always good.
My trip was uneventful--beautiful drive down 81--loads of trucks, though; I'd forgotten how heavy the truck traffic can be!
The day got off to an annoying start, though. One of my cats managed to escape while I was trying to get him into the carrier on the porch, and there was no getting him back! So I cancelled the reservation at the Kitty Kondo, put the other cat out and left food, water and instructions for members of my daughters family, who will have to come check on the horses anyway. I don't mind leaving the cats out for two or three days, but I always board them if it's going to be longer. Not that there aren't plenty of outbuildings for them to stay in... Oh well, maybe this will be the new routine!

My main concern is the heat...it's supposed to be well into the 90's, and the clinic pretty well takes over the fairgrounds. I don't do heat very well...,
>> Jay, being a nurse, will be working in the Health Resources center. I'll be working in the optical center, helping people select glasses frames, which I think will be fun.
>> The clinic runs from 6am-5pm Friday and Saturday and 6am-4pm on Sunday. Folks will be lining up in their cars from about noon tomorrow (Thursday), hoping for low numbers. Numbers are handed out beginning about 3am each day of the clinic.
>> This is one of the biggest RAM clinics, serving 3-4000 people in the three days. Dental services are most in demand, with glasses coming in second.
