[Magdalen] Computer help

Why not now? Easy. Your software doesn't work with Windows ten. I thought
this was mentioned. It's the main real reason not to upgrade. Windows ten
is not a horrible operating system; it just won't work with several of my
programs, so after the upgrade, all of those just vanished. I could still
find the files, but it figured out that a shortcut was for a program it
didn't support, and deleted the shortcut, so the program essentially
vanished.
I recovered, and voila, (or as the musician would say, "Viola!") there they
were again.

I'll lose stuff when I upgrade of course, but not until. I'll have time to
consider what I need, and find a substitute for what I'll be losing.

Too bad I didn't get an "expiration date" for my hard drive (one almost
never does). All of a sudden, I lost everything on that drive that wasn't
backed up. Several nice things too. But that was just a matter of some
errant cosmic rays frying something vital....
