Architectural Record has an announcement and article about the
to be developed Obama Library and Center in the current issue.
 
It will be in Jackson Park, a Frederick Law Olmsted designed
green patch of more than 500 acres on Chicago's South Side and
just adjacent to the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry.
 
There is excellent rail service to and from the Loop.
 
The neighborhood was chosen, among other reasons, as a way of
boosting the recovery of the neighborhood, a process that has
had starts and stops over the past couple of decades  The  neighborhood
has been primarily African-American.
 
The specific design plans are apparently not as yet released.
