OK, regarding Taft I stand corrected! It doesn’t change my view on the substance however. To move from the Presidency to the Supreme Court represents a misunderstanding of the spirit of the US constitution and the separation of powers. But more importantly, I cannot see how this would be of any interest whatsoever to Obama, given his nature and passions. We will not have seen the last of him, but he won’t re-appear in this role – I’d be willing to put money on that.
