Thanks to all for the birthday wishes.  I consider it a badge of honor that the b'day wishes that greeted me this morning took me by surprise.  Consider your collective self thanked for being the ONLY people that remember what today is.  (Ok by me, actually!)

Had the bad news that the guest apartments where Mom lives are booked, apparently, through the summer, so I'm stuck having to play Motel Roulette for something downslope in Sparks.  Bungs up my normal routine during such visits, but since it could easily be my Last One, I guess I should just suck it up.  If anything, it's me and Anna, so I'm sure she'll be sufficiently plugged in with Mom so I can take my aching legs and feet back to wherever it is we'll be staying for the occasional propping-up and nap, if managed.  There's a Nugget Casino and Hotel right on the road Mom lives on MILES south of where she lives, and since it appears from what limited research I've already done that such places compete like crazy during such seasons, maybe I'll just suck it up again and live in luxury for a few days.
