It varies, but the fact is, we're a big country. Hil is not having problems
in New York (or at least not nearly so much). It's in other places where
they just cannot stand the fact that she didn't get the memo they all know
by heart: "Politics is open to anyone qualified; women are by definition
not qualified." The women among these people do not see the conflict in
their view. Folks here keep on blissfully denying it, but the fact is lots
of people hate Hillary because she's an uppity woman who dares to presume
she merits high political position, and it drives them effin nuts.

I remember like it was yesterday, talking with a mover-and-shaker woman in
my parish about the upcoming resolution on the proposed equal rights for
women amendment to the New York State Constitution. Her reaction was wildly
enraged. I was baffled because I assumed she would be an enthusiastic
supporter. She came back at me like I was advocating something incredibly
evil. She was a power broker, but equal rights for women was absolutely
unthinkable.

Welcome to the real world, where folks hold irrational beliefs and if you
try to show them anything, they just dig in their heels and insist all the
more loudly and stubbornly that you are out to lunch and they are the
sound-minded one.

This is why I oppose all discussion of him who deserves not to be named.
Anything you say -- I don't care what you say -- that isn't in his favor
just makes them all the more determined that you are Satan's spawn and they
are the lone forces for good. Yep, it's just like that, and not getting
better. I can well understand why the Fathers wanted the president picked
by wise old men.
