Marion Thompson wrote, referring to the Pound Sterling:

Actually no it won’t, certainly not in the short term. Eventually it may. But in the meantime the uncertainties created by this vote will cause havoc. In the universities there is already panic, particularly amongst EU students, and international students appear to be changing their minds about coming to Britain, perhaps sensing that the campaign unleashed rather a lot of xenophobia.

This is a scary moment in the UK’s history.
