It's being widely reported on Twitter, including by reliable Tennessee
sources, that former UT women's basketball coach Pat Summitt is
hospitalized in critical condition and is not expected to make it. Those
close to her are making pilgrimages to the hospital to be with her one last
time. That includes many former players who are keeping vigil outside her
hospital room. Some are leaving their professional teams to be with her.
The loss will be great not just to Tennessee and women's basketball, but to
the whole basketball world. She contributed so much. These last few years
have been very painful, watching her lose so much of herself; of all people
for that to happen to! Please pray that if this is her time, her passing
will be peaceful, and pray for all of us who knew and loved her and will
miss her greatly.
