I've probably told the story that an ex-Trappist monk from the
Gethsemane Monastery in Kentucky, USA liked to tell
 
A monk/priest served as deacon for the Sunday Solemn High
Mass for the Trappist Community. 
 
During the course of his chanting the Gospel, it became obvious to
the assembled monastic community that he had lost his underwear
shorts.  Upon finishing, he simply stepped out of them upon  returning to 
his seat in the sedilla.  The white shorts were quite visible on the  dark 
stone
floor.
 
The liturgical MC walked majestically to the shorts, and with a well
aimed kick, booted the shorts into the sacristy, all the while making  it
look like part of the usual Solemn High Mass Liturgy.
