did manage to get to a mass this evening which felt like the right
thing. Your prayers are, of course, welcome.>>>>>>
May he rest in peace.
When my mother died at 98 in 1998 on a Saturday afternoon, I felt
the need to head to church, and did so at the cavernous Basilica
of Saint Mary nearby. It so happened that the handbell choir from
the Hennepin Avenue Methodist Church just across the street was
ringing the prelude there, plus the Offertory, Communion and recessional.
The selections were all JS Bach arrangements from his "Wachet Auf"
Cantata.
It was a real ecumenical melange very appropriate to my mother's mentality,
and was a good choice for me.as well.
David Strang.
