I didn't really intend to suggest you were making stuff up. Goodness no.
In any case, my main thought was, most of those jerks are very likely dead,
and the VFW is very worried about the old guard doing any of that stuff.
We need younger SMs for when we're dead.
But as for your experiences, what happened was horrible, obviously.
