We have had a new (to us) Chihuahua.  She is black with  gold-brown
markings and apparently a couple of months old.  She was found  wandering
in he middle of an isolated rural road about a month ago.  She was  very
thin, with ribs showing, but otherwise seemed all right.  There were  no
identifying tags.  There were no houses close to this site.  
 
We took the dog home, and have had friends advertise on line and in  print
and there has been zero response.  She's now just one of our pack,  and
seems to love it.  Her ribs no longer show.  
 
I expect she was simply abandoned and put out to the forces of  nature.
She has a wonderful personality, and her name (after one of my  Miniature
Schnauzers) is Haily.
 
I call her my miracle dog, though.  It's a miracle we were there to  find 
her
and make her a new home.
