For years,I cantored the 4 PM Mass up the road at the largest of the RC 
parishes in the RC Diocese of Scranton.  They had this custom, but  since 
there were a couple of lectors who possessed strong Bostonian and  
Metropolitan
(NYC) New Jersey accents, I always thought they routinely sounded  like
they were speaking another language.
 
Nonetheless, I did read parts of the lessons on occasion in  Norwegian.
The look on faces was priceless.
