Today I learned two things:

1) I knew this was coming, but how fast and in what increments (What increments?!), I didn't.  My rent is going up $205 on Aug 1st.  For this, I *WILL* get new blinds (energy efficient, not the metal shit like I've had for nearly 11 years now), AND, if necessary, a new wall furnace.  I'll know about the furnace, once PG&E examines and tells me the score.  (Maybe a mere cleaning will be enough.)

2)  My car is beginning to not want to accelerate when I step on the gas.  It does, but sometimes only after I rev it a bit, and even then, it's a "cautious" acceleration.  Gotta get it into the shop one of these days.  (Shades of Fibber McGee.)
