Grace,

I am not Roger (who if he has any sense is surely asleep by now), but I
believe the ESTA to which he referred is an *Electronic System for Travel
Authorization.* This is a sort of application for admission that contains
biographical information and allows the customs authorities to determine
admissibility upon arrival.
