When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left, and could say, 'I used everything you gave me'. attributed to Erma Bombeck

A happy issue out of all my affliction:
I screwed up my nerve, wrestled a phone number out of the internet (411 doesn't speak to Canadians) and called my elder niece Emily. We had quite a good talk, and I suspect that I'll be on speaking terms with her younger sister Catherine soon.
The decision to exclude me from my sister's death was made by my former brother-in-law, and it upset and confused my nieces. This, and my own deep hurt and fear of being again rejected, was the barrier between us.
Love carries us through hurt and fear. TBTG.
