[Magdalen] Neville Marriner has died

The Academy of St. Martin in the Fields was a non-conducted musical
organization that decided to use a conductor at times.
The person picked was Neville (Sir) Marriner.
There were some glitches. At one time an oboist said, "You know, Nev,
you've got to stand where everyone can see you, or where nobody can see
you."
Over the years, he and the A of S M i t F group produced a huge number of
well received readings of a wide distribution of music.
