When I find guests, I try to move them unharmed outside, but this generally
is limited to moths, spiders, and frogs or toads (who can keep track of
which??).

I'd be a little hesitant to get too close to a snake. It's all well and
good to say it's non-poisonous, right up to that awkward moment when you
realize you've got fang marks in your arm.
