[Magdalen] Prayer request

Have had two — count 'em two — shots into my left eyeball, the most recent last Thursday, 10/20. It isn’t a lovely experience, but it’s not nearly so bad as it sounds. They numb the eye. The shot itself is really quick, and the discomfort afterward is low-key, or has been for me. This isn’t something you’ll recommend to all your friends, but it truly isn’t so horrible as it sounds. Like yours, my diagnosis is ‘iffy,” but these injections are my doctor’s choice of treatment. For a while, it was “wait and watch,” but then things took a downward turn, and he decided to treat it. Whatever “it” might be. There will be more of the injections at widening intervals, the next in early December. The first two shots were a month apart.

I empathise with your shouts of anguish. The prospect would terrify me - it was bad enough having laser surgery to cauterise a burst blood-vessel in my eye. I would need to be out cold before anybody approached my eye with a sharp instrument or needle. You assuredly have my prayers.
