Young Christopher Alexander, Kit for short, has arrived safely. There
were some long and tense hours beforehand. Julie's labor went on for
hours and failed to progress properly, she did develop pre-eclampsia
and they finally delivered her by C-section. Even though Kit is
almost 4 weeks early he weighs a respectable 5 pounds 10 ounces, is in
very good medical shape and is allowed to be in the room with his
parents. His grandmother Karen and I spent most of yesterday sitting
with them and did on grocery run for mandarin orange seltzer, the only
thing Julie was really craving, being still on clear liquids.

The nurses seem wonderful and are encouraging skin to skin contact.
It's beautiful to see the little fellow snuggled up on his mother,
then his father's chest. He's not nursing properly yet but they're
working on it and all prospects seem bright.

Thank you all for your prayers.
