Some years ago the Churcg of England came to an arrangement with the 
main installer of cell-phone towers and all parishes were encouraged to 
investugate the possibility of hosting one.  I don't know how many were 
fitted (my own church did not have a tower and was not suitable) but I 
would imagine that some hill-top rural churches would be prime 
locations, with the added bonus of providing a regular income.
