Hey, if I limped all over half of Spain (and Portugal) on a bum ankle, I
bet you can handle the Santiago Trail.  It's not supposed to be a daunting
walk (like that insane Appalachian Trail). It's a pilgrimage trail, and
therefore fit for folks - uh, like us.  I also find myself strangely drawn
to it, which is actually humorous, since I don't buy into any of the bases
for the thing. I guess being named after the guy (albeit by accident, I
assume) might have something to do with it.

I believe you have all sorts of options open to you, from several starting
points deep in France to staying at nice places or hostels.  I get the
impression that for the most part (at least in the Iberian section, which
is the biggie), it's pretty level going.  And you go pretty much at your
own pace, so it's a real opportunity for some quiet meditation time...
