Wow... I hope he was tested for Lyme disease. They are now reporting that as many as 20% of people bit never show the famous bullseye AND untreated Lyme disease can lead to Alzheimer's symptoms that can be reversible.

There was a patient of mine at the VAMC who had just finished
walking every major trail in England/Scotland/Wales.  He saw
me every six months, and on his next visit he was brought in by
his wife.  He was in a wheel chair.  Alzeimer's had quickly  reduced
him to semi-vegetable.  It was a tremendous shock.
