Thanks for t he commiserations, all. I perhaps should explain that the now-separate pair in question are members (half!) of my solo quartet. I can't work with them out of action, and another member is about to leave us for faraway climes.<sigh> It is always difficult to incorporate subs into such a small group, very unsettling.
