>>>Keith Olbermann<<<

Boy, do I miss Keith. I don't miss what I later learned was his tendency to sue anything that walked whenever he felt it was impacting his television experience, ... but I miss him nonetheless. I used to rush home from work so I'd only miss the first 5 minutes of his show. And of course, his end-of-episode readings from Thurber were priceless (even according to the now-late William Windom).

But I will never forget what happened in my living room the night of his final episode of "Countdown". As he was about to cut to his final (FINAL!) commercial break, he said "And when we come back, I'll explain why this is my last episode." I remember spontaneously crawling on hands and knees (I had shins then) on my coffee table, toward the TV, mouth agape, and mumbling "WHAAAAAA???"

I actually paid extra to Comcast for a while to have access to CurrentTV (Gore's network) for when Keith re-invented himself there. It just wasn't the same, and didn't last. And, of course, Keith sued.

That was my first taste of a beloved MSNBC show going down the tubes. Since then, so many shows, so many tubes!
