That's terrible. I've had it happen, and I never pointed a finger at the reader. If it wasn't a passage I was going to preach on, I ignored it. If it was something I was using, I found a way to read the parts I needed into the sermon. Most parishes here have the readings in their bulletins, so they would notice the mistake anyway.
