The best breads on the planet (IMO) are Middle Eastern, not European.
And both Testaments are full of references to bread, to measures of meal
and flour, to the planting, growing, winnowing & grinding of grain, to
loaves (with lamb or lentils or fishes).

The poor Israelites missed the bread they ate in Egypt so much that God
sent them manna.
